Having just come back from a trip to Beijing, we were very much inspired by the beautiful symbolism and history of the Peony. As the traditional flower symbol of China, Peonies have had a recorded history in China dating back to the reign of the Emperor Yang (605-617) of the Sui dynasty. Known as the ‘King of Flowers’, peonies are associated with riches, honor and nobility and regarded as an omen of prosperity and a happy marriage with its round and generous blossoms.
