The New Kid on the Block..
Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

We recently met up with Lucia Shum, the newly appointed Director of Catering and Events at the yet-to-be opened Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. Located at ICC, the Ritz-Carlton makes a spectacular return as the world’s tallest hotel, slated to open around March 2011. Lucia tells us that the ballroom is already a popular choice amongst wedding couples. With a 7,580 sq ft Grand Ballroom (that can be divided into two smaller ballrooms) easily accommodating 40+ tables and the infamous Ritz-Carlton service, its not surprising that couples are willing to take a leap of faith and book it sight unseen. This could turn out to be one of the hottest wedding venues in 2011!

For reservations or enquiries, please contact the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong Catering & Events Department at (852) 3760 – 9019.

Summer weddings
Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Flicking through our album of previous weddings and came across one that took place exactly a year ago today! Summer weddings in Hong Kong are generally avoided due to the hot, humid and sticky weather but this late afternoon wedding at the Union Church followed by the dinner reception at the nearby Helena May proved to be a cool affair. With a simple yet effective colour scheme of pink and white, long tables were set under swirling colonial style fans in this heritage building.

From the heart
Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Not only was our recent bride beautiful and highly educated, she had impeccable manners and was a cut above the rest. She overcame all her wedding obstacles (everyone has them!) with poise and grace and was an inspiration to us all!  It was truly a pleasure to work on their wedding. From the bonsai tree centerpieces that reflected the father of the groom’s love of gardening to the individual caricaturist drawings she commissioned for each member of bridal party, she thought of everything from the heart and we were privileged to have helped her make it happen.

Getting ready!

The Phoenix Jakarta
Saturday, June 5th, 2010

From the ashes of itself rises a mythical bird, the Phoenix. The story of the Phoenix is symbolic to the renewal of a beautiful three story building in the heart of Jakarta’s business and entertainment district. We had a big hand in re-designing and consulting on the interiors and overall look…extreme makeover style (with lots of trips to Jakarta thrown in!) So, if you are ever in Jakarta or you are IN Jakarta, go check out The Phoenix, a contemporary place to chill out (in the garden) and a great place to celebrate, the venue holds up to 300 for cocktail reception or a buffet dinner.
