Mischa Bridal Clutches
Saturday, March 27th, 2010

Inspired by her travels to Japan, Mischa Designs’ creator, Michelle Lai, reconstructs brocade obi belts into elegant handbags and accessories. We love it!

Her newest collection was created with brides-to-be in mind, re-using intricately designed obi belts in white, silver, and hints of pink fashioned into her signature dumpling clutch. These ‘dumplings’ are roomy and look great either half-filled or stuffed. A great accessory either pre- or post wedding, and useful for keeping some must-have items close at hand on your wedding day – lipstick, mints, mobile phone and more!

Michelle created her first obi clutch because she had difficulty in finding a clutch to match a dress for a friend’s wedding. For all you thoughtful brides-to-be, you can also gift your bridal party with a luxurious obi clutch to say thank you for their love and support on your wedding day.

Mischa Designs is based in Hong Kong, and available in Singapore, New York, Jeddah, and Paris. Visit her website Mischa Designs on how to order!

Bali Weddings
Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Many couples-to-be dream of an intimate beach or island wedding with close friends and family. We can now make that a reality.  It is with great pleasure that we introduce to you Michelle Han, The Wedding Company’s Event Producer in Bali.

Michelle was the first person to get married in the garden of the famed Oriental Hotel in Bangkok and sped off from the ceremony up the Chao Phraya River in a flower strewn water taxi. Her life was never going to be conventional. Her career as a television producer and international news broadcaster ensured a discipline for attention to detail, working to budget and coordinating live events. Michelle lives between Hong Kong, Bangkok and Bali where she has organized weddings, birthdays and corporate events.

After 18 years of owning a home in Bali, Michelle has the insider’s knowledge of top venues, visually-stunning locations & industry-leading vendors that can turn an event into a unique experience. From barefoot on the beach, hilltop hotel grandeur to exchanging vows in a rice paddy, Michelle can realize your Bali wedding dreams.

Auspicious days to get married in 2010
Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

In Hong Kong, finding an auspicious date to get married is a ‘must’ if you or your family are at all traditional! Finding a good date requires the services of a fung shui master who takes into account the couple’s birth dates and times and also refers to the chinese almanac. Usually, even numbered months and dates are preferred and lunar month of March (Ching Ming Festival), lunar month of July (Ghost month) & the lunar month of September (Chung Yeung Festival) are generally not considered ‘lucky’ dates for weddings.

Even though 2010 isn’t the best year to get married (according to the Chinese calendar, 2011 is better!), here are some of the best dates to get married this year!

April 3,8,17,20,22,29

May 2,11,15,20,23

June 4,9,14,17,29

July 5,13,15,16,28

Aug 1,16,30

September 4,5,12,16,18,24,27,28,30

October 6,10,11,20,23

November 4,10,13,17,25,26

December 1,6,8,18,20,29

Umi (you say it like this “oo-mee”)
Friday, March 12th, 2010

We are thrilled to be the exclusive retailer in Hong Kong for Umi, the brand new little sister to Elum Design’s couture invitation line. Umi is an affordable letterpress solution for those who don’t want to compromise on design or materials.

Of course, with these affordably priced packages do come some limitations. All artwork and layout has to remain the same as shown on the samples but we think you will be so smitten with the designs, you won’t want to change a thing! You still have every opportunity to put your own stamp on it by customizing ink colours, paper and envelopes. There is also a flat printed option at a fraction of the price. Their highly affordable flat printed packages are the perfect solution for the client who loves the design but won’t budge for letterpress. More details on www.elumdesigns.com!
