When we were approached to handle the design and production of this wedding, we knew it would be the event of a lifetime, and not only for those involved in the nuptials. Purple and gold, the colours of royalty, laid the foundation for the décor, which included tables featuring mirrored tabletops; over 3,000 hydrangeas, among other flowers, sprinkled lavishly across the ballroom; and centerpieces that rose dramatically from the tables with hanging crystals and plum-coloured candles. The entire ballroom was redesigned and paneled for the occasion to resemble a castle interior, and palace subjects were commissioned to fill various duties, from sleight-of-hand magicians taking on the role of jesters to caricaturists filling the occupation of court artists. The bride herself played the princess bride in a series of gowns by Barney Cheng. As the reception ended and the after-party began, guests were presented with gifts from Tiffany & Co, ensuring that no expense was spared in staging the occasion of a lifetime.
